Hair Transplant 7761 Grafts

29 October 2007 No Comment

The patient above had a hair transplant with a total of 7761 grafts inserted, which is an incredible amount. Just goes to show you how Hair Transplantation has evolved in recent years. Not so long ago it would have taken 4-5 years to accomplish that many grafts, not to mention 4-6 surgeries. This patient was diagnosed as being on a Norwood hair loss scale of NW5/6 and to be able pull 7761 grafts from such a patient is an incredible feat.
Dr Hasson was the surgeon. The patient’s scalp laxity was amazing after 4 months of vigorous scalp exercise which Hasson and Wong insist you do before the surgery date. His density was way above average. At first Dr Hasson said they should be able to get 5000 which the patient was really pleased with, then Dr. Hasson said the techs were predicting around 6500, which was amazing. Later after some more observation and tests, they were able to extract 7761 grafts, which is unbelievable.

Before the surgery the patient and others never imagined that he could have been a candidate for an extraction of 7761 grafts as his donor area was so thin, just shows you it’s always best to see the doctor in person as you never know what your outcome could be.

It goes without saying that this patient could not speak highly enough about Hasson and Wong. They made him comfortable and delivered more than he expected. He later stated that the techs do an amazing job and are really hard working. The procedure was the longest that Dr Hasson and his team has ever done. They started at 7.15am and finally finished at 1.15am the next day!! They were totally professional right to the end.

Dr Hasson later stated that this one surgery was the 2nd biggest procedure he has ever done, it was a couple of hundred short of the record. The patient recommends anyone who plans to have a big session with H&W not to fly home the next day. He flew home the afternoon after the procedure and it was a big mistake. It didn’t help that the plane stopped twice on the way back to the UK. By the time he landed back in London his head had swollen like a balloon and the other passengers were looking at me like he was a freak, he thinks he may have scared them!!
